Dr. Mark Deakes is Chairman of the International Optical Technologies Association (IOTA) and R&D Holographic Lead for ITW Security Films.

With 25 years extensive experience in the holography and security printing industries, he has held key positions including Head of Technology Research for De La Rue and Director of Optical and Authentication Technologies for Reconnaissance International. Mark has contributed significantly to industry reports, conferences, consulting and served as General Secretary of the International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA), where he expanded membership, improved finances and helped spearhead the transformation to IOTA.

He holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry and an MBA and brings a wealth of technical and commercial expertise to his roles.
